Worst Trends by Decade
Apartment Therapy has put together a survey of the worst trends for each decade since the ’70s. In the 70’s they state popcorn ceilings – and yet that one is often seen in newbuilds. My sister loved avocado green – I could not stand it. The ’80s has vertical blinds: still see those sometimes. Mirrored walls – that can still at times be a good idea. The 90s has fake florals ah yes been there done that, but silk plants have made a comeback. The 2000’s interestingly enough they say the open floor plan. I have heard it said that that pendulum could swing the other way. Must say I prefer a closed kitchen when I entertain. Finally, the 2010s has gallery walls. Guilty of that, but I don’t think I’m doing it as a trend but simply as a collector – that’s my line and I’m sticking to it. Enjoy the rest!
