As the needs and the means of each generation changes so does the appearance of our cities. Add to that the province and the city’s intensification plans to create a more pedestrian friendly society less reliant on cars – and so rather than the urban sprawl of the past we are seeing neighbourhoods go vertical. It’s not all perfect but seeing the centre core more alive in the evening is nice, as is a diminished reliance on cars.
