Sandy Hill is a historic neighbourhood dating back to the nineteenth century. At that time it was Ottawa’s wealthiest neighbouhood. uOttawa is a university of over 40,000 students, and enrolment is growing. Those two facts make for a battleground. Student housing is being developed officially but investors continue to seek out potential properties – all while the neighbourhood struggles to maintain its historic structures. It’s a fight!
