Ottawa Firefighters Rescue Senior Citizen

Seeing a classic office person at the top of a ladder in a TV show last night reminded that this is perhaps the time to remind everyone: DON’T!

Found this article from a month or so in The Ottawa Citizen about firefighters being sent to rescue a senior citizen who had found himself on the roof and uneasy coming down.

I always warn against going up there! Get a professional! Its’ quite easy to fall and no matter your age, injure yourself!.

This is a good article from the CBC earlier this year. What to do in case of fire in a high rise building. There are fire drills in office buildings but not so in residential towers. So good to read. Here a link to City of Ottawa Fire detection and escape planning.

And remember that the Canadian building standards guard against fires like what happened earlier this year in London.

Over the past couple of weeks we were very fortunate indeed to have met Molly Hoyle.

We were selling our home and Molly brought her client to view it knowing it would be a home that they would be interested in....which by the way they were as they did end up purchasing.
