The city of Ottawa issued 8,400 building permits for new units in 2018. Apartment buildings carry the highest percentage of building permit requests with singles/semis, and row houses sharing the balance. Kanata and Stittsville showed the highest population growth followed by Barrhaven, Riverside South, and Findlay Creek. Bells Corners, Queensway-Carleton Hospital, and Centerpoint show a decreased population.
