Replace Bi-fold Doors with Slider Doors

Doors like other things seem to be cyclical. Currently the pendulum has swung to slider doors. I’m not entirely sure why. I live in a 1927 building so I`m sure my doors have endured many a trend. I`m thankful they did. That being said I’ve had bi-fold doors – I like that they give you full access to the closet. Admittedly all that swinging can have them go awry at times. But to me the slider doors mean you can`t access everything at once or two people must coordinate their closet time. What`s your preferred door?

Design Choices That Stress You Out

I recently came to sit on a sofa that had so many cushions I couldn’t really sit – so that one’s real.

  • The mismatched dishes, unless meant to be, would be depressing;
  • Bold colours are fun but surely not serene;
  • Admitedly that bookcase looks like something I’d do (minus the diagonal books (not a fan of that)). And as a maximalist I am aware that everything must be in it’s place – and it doesn’t take long for a mess to be created.

Closet Spring Cleaning

Martha says its time to do the spring cleaning in your closets. Are you going to argue with Martha? You know she’s right; save your energy for the task needing doing. You have to move your winter clothes off to the cedar closet (should you be so lucky) or to the rubbermaid bucket if you are less lucky but equally organized.

The use of orphaned teacups for jewellery is a great idea. I like to try to organize things in a cupboard or closet so that when I open the door it’s pleasant, it makes me smile. If you don’t think a well-organized linen closet is nice to look at try having a disorganized one for a while and see how you feel.
