I suppose when you think about it a perfectly well styled vignette is the opposite of a cluttered mess.  For me when I walk into a room where such exists there’s a sigh of appreciation – its a bit like a sculpture created by a grouping of items.

As the pendulum swings.  This morning I reflect on the fact that we’ve gone bold.  For the longest time interior design was sombre beige, grey or greige but now I see more and more bold wallpaper, and floor-coverings.  These are fun just remember they don’t age too well and so use sparingly or knowing you’ll need to replace.

By now you may be starting to suffer of withdrawl from Downton Abbey.  To help your Monday morning along may I suggest a selection of decor items which would feel right at home on the set.

It’s Monday, it’s grey, still winter (but not too cold) so perhaps a little fanciful illumination is what’s required to provide a moment of escape from the mundane.   Enjoy
