Happy St-Patrick’s Day
I realize I posted the video of Niagara Falls turned green before. But it’s just hard to resist this one! Of course we do it with lights whereas the Chicago River is really turned green. Happy St-Patrick’s Day!

Happy Lunar New Year!
Happy Chinese New Year!
Happy New Year!
As this new variant takes control of our city, province, country I find myself wanting to repeat words from my New Years Day post of 2021.
To those who truly suffered in 2020 (and now 2021), our thoughts are with you, a new world is forming, and with it new opportunities. We must continue to shop local as much as we can, encourage restaurants by picking something up or ordering in, and we must support each other. Beyond the masks we don’t know what the strained smiles hide, it was a year like none other and no one was left unscathed one way or another. I recently shared an article by the CBC which proposed some coping mechanisms. Explore it for yourself should the need be there, share it with a friend who seems to be struggling.
Let us for the moment turn to the great words of Dougie MacLean, a song that never fails to bring a tear to my eyes.
Auld Lang Syne
Song by Dougie MacLean
Lyrics
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
We twa hae run about the braes,
and pu’d the gowans fine;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot,
sin auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidl’d i’ the burn,
frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin auld lang syne.
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
and gie’s a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,
for auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
How to Make the Most of “Romjul”
During this holiday period apartmenttherapy proposes a new concept for us “Romjul”. A time to take a moment. Romjul is Norwegian way of taking advantage of the down time.
