Street Art – West Centre Town / Chinatown / Nanny Goat Hill
Whimsical figures have appeared near the top of Nanny Goat Hill. At first, there was the group at the corner of Arthur and Somerset representing Journey to the West. Then the rabbits near Cambridge, then more colourful clusters of figures appeared. They’re such fun! For now little can be found on Google about the figures, but I’m told they are permanent installations, and they’re purpose is to attract more walking traffic in Chinatown. Well it worked for me yesterday. Having already seen some, after lunch at our favourite restaurant a friend and I walked along Somerset Street West to see them all.
I’d say Chinatown is doing very well with Street Art, we already had the Royal Gateway which is great, and now we have these characters.
