Starchitect – Robert A. M. Stern
Robert A.M. Stern was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1939. He studied at Columbia University and Yale University. He is the founding partner of Robert A.M. Stern Architects / RAMSA. He was the dean of the Yale School of Architecutre. For a period of time his work was postmodern, but eventually it became more traditional. He is also an author, having published, among other books, a history of New York architecture in 5 volumes. In 19866, he hosted an 8 part documentary series for PBS, called: Pride of Place: Building the American Dream. I could only find 1 episode on YouTube, Episode 7, it features the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. In it I learnt of the very amusing toping off of the Chrysler. If you find the other 7 episodes DO let me know.
