Molly was quite unique. A good friend for over 20 years and a business partner for more than half of that time. It was one day chatting with her from Korea that I said I was antsy, and she replied, “Come back and we’ll work together”. I did, and so began our partnership. Our days at the office had a routine. I’d arrive at 10am and get some work done. Though potentially up for some time, Molly didn’t move terribly fast early in the morning. She’d arrive at 11am then we’d have coffee discuss business and of course personal issues then carry on with our work. Molly’s take on any situation was always unique! When in social situations we’d often, ok always, banter. How many times did people think we were an old married couple – too many times to remember. It was a bit of a comedy show to others near us, it wasn’t something we put on, it simply was. Once, that behaviour even got us a listing with the seller thinking – working with them to sell the house will be fun. While we worked together during her rounds of chemo, she’d have the chemo be off for a few days then trot back into the office. When a hurdle was encountered the rule was lick your wounds for one day then move on. Or, escape the office for a bit of retail therapy. Oh and with that accent she could get away with, well I cant finish that sentence here, ask me in private. And now having to write this I say: “I don’t like it!”, an expression from her mother, said in a very particular way, one Molly could imitate very nicely and suits this moment all too well.
I love you kiddo! Claude
