4 Things I Decluttered After Moving into a New Home

ApartmentTherapy has put together a post on 4 things to declutter after moving. Having moved a year ago or so and having done the exercise I must say I agree with their suggestions. My new apartment was a similar size to my previous but walk-in closets (4) were replaced with closets with sliding doors. I had a similar or somewhat higher square footage but it was different. My approach was to see what fit, fit property that is and then set aside what did not. There were many trips to the thrift store. At first it was hard but once the process was started it got easier.

Architect – Viljo Revell

Viljo Revell (1910-1964) was a Finnish architect. He studied architecture at the Helsinki University of Technology. Revell was of the Functionalist school. The Functionalist views originate with the Gothic Revival architects which according to Augustus Welby Pugin “there should be no features about a building which are not necessary for convenience, construction, or propriety” and “all ornament should consist of enrichment of the essential construction of the building”. Post World War I the purpose was to create architecture to build a new and better world.
