HGTV proposes a list of 12 ways that millennials decorate differently. OK, I’m a baby boomer let me see what I can and can’t relate to:
- string lights – nope;
- avocado tones – nope. My sister loved avocado green! I’m not a fan of green;
- bar carts – just got a bar cart and love it. Always wanted one, always loved them. Ha!;
- Indoor plants – I’ve always had plants. Love them. Ha again!;
- Millennial Pink – ok no on that one;
- Scented candles – no! really don’t like them. I do like candles but unscented please;
- Brass accents – yes! In fact before it became trendy I have brass pieces and silver pieces and I’m totally good with mixing my metals;
- Macrame wall hangings – ok, I’ll pass on that one;
- Woven decor – eh no again;
- Salt lamps – messy, so no;
- Tarot decks – I haven’t had my cards read in a long time but used to enjoy that;
- White marble surfaces – I have none but do love that. I don’t however recommend it to clients as it is high maintenance and porous which means if you spill a glass of red wine you’re done.
