Yesterday, a colleague made me aware of the options provided by Hydro Ottawa in these times of COVID-19. Essentially, customers can choose between two rate structures as set by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB): time-of-use and tiered rates. Hydro Ottawa’s website details structures available effective October 13, 2020 as well as the rates effective November 1, 2020. Their website also addresses deferral of global adjustment charges, electricity service disconnection bans, scams during the COVID-19 emergency, electricity bill payment options, and financial assistance.
