In this seller’s market where multiple offers are received on one property, it is true that the inspection condition is often one of the first to go. An alternative is to perform an inspection before you put in an offer.
Remember home inspectors are not all created equal. I had posted something about stricter regulations of inspectors a few months ago. In fact, I had an inspector recently scare a client because some 1980s built condos did not have the same electrical requirements as new built. The property was grandfathered and fine but he horrified my client.
