Back in the day when the LRT was but a plan I remember it being said that construction would happen along the LRT line. Well as presented in a blog post by the CBC that seems to be more now in the works. More than a dozen multi tower projects are being proposed.
The article goes on to state that though there is often objections to the proposal of towers they can have a positive impact to the community. I have heard of this from residents of Vanier near 70 or 90 Landry – stating that the area did not seem safe to walk in at night in the past but with a changed demographic from the additional residents in the towers the area was improved.
The following proposals are detailed:
- 265 Centrum
- Kanata North
- Lansdowne 2.0
- 2000 City Park
- 829 Carling Avenue
- 400 Coventry
- Former Greyhound station
- 1047 Richmond Road
- 665 Albert Street
- 2026 Scott
- 2 Robinson
- Standard Bread Building
- 2946 Baseline Road
- 70-80 Woodridge
- 1640-1660 Carling Avenue
