A new “landmark” tower is being proposed by Claridge Homes near the Canadian Museum of Nature. According to the article the city has a policy which defines landmark. In my mind isn’t landmark something that occurs organically. Well seems not! Three architect submissions are to be reviewed for the project which includes a 27 storey residential building as well as outdoor meeting spaces. The submissions will include contributions from landscape architects as well as Indigenous desingers or artists. Two properties deemed to be heritage will be maintened a third said to have had it’s heritage status compromised by office conversion is being reviewed.
