Four seasons in, and we’re still besotted with the beautiful, period-perfect British soap that is Downton Abbey.  While the fortunres of its characters may rise and fall, one thing remains constant: The grandeur of its namesake setting.  “Your lot buys it. My lot inherits it,” Lady Mary Crowley once told a suitor by way of explaining the difference in the decorating strategies of those with titles and those without.  For today’s aesthetes who fall into the latter camp, we’re selected furniture, objects and artworks for every room of your own home – even if it’s a downsized Downton.  We dare say even Lady Mary would approve.  by Clair Watson
