Antiques
Anyone who knows me knows I love antiques. Road trips with me can be challenging when pressed for time because an “Antiques Ahead” sign advices of an upcoming mandatory stop.
Today I start a new project, I’ve got a new mission: I’d like to increase the appreciation of older wood pieces and the realization that they can be incorporated into any décor.
Recently I’ve seen too many before and after posts of great pieces where the after has it painted white. And so today with the cooperation of my favourite antique stores in the city I start a series of posts promoting beautiful wood pieces that can make warm additions to your home. Some can even sit next to an Ikea Billy bookcase.
Today’s post features a solid walnut dresser presented by Eric Haldorsen, Manager or Upper Canadian Artique, 1206 Bank Street, 613.247.0662

15+ Uses for Tension Rods You’ve Never Thought Of
Love these ideas for tension rods.
Some great ideas! My favourites are the under the sink storage, the planters in the window and the cutting boards. I’ve used several (paired up) at the back of my entrance closet for shoes. At first I tried a bookcase but find this makes use of the full width of the wall.
