24 Sussex Drive
As a heritage activist I do believe 24 Sussex Drive should be restored. When you look at other residences of world leaders or heads of state around the world ours is quite modest in comparison. 2 ideas that have come forth this week I like. 1 not at all. Diane Beckett of the Sierra Club Foundation proposes making “the greenest most energy-smart official residence”. I quite like What an example we could be. What a statement we could make in Paris very shortly! Thom Fitzgerald’s post (see below) proposing a reality TV show: imagine the ratings. The idea I don’t like is Maureen McTeer‘s of tearing it down. What’s your perspective?

Coach houses are coming to Ottawa. How will they look? Where will they be? How large? Oh so many questions that Ottawa City Hall will have to deal with! Perhaps you’ve got a large lot or would like extra income.

Ingenious Ideas for Small Interiors
With houses and condos becoming smaller and smaller we need clever ideas to make good use of space. Some good ones here. Some I can’t quite figure: the fellow sitting at his dining room table seems very happy to have raised his bed to the ceiling. And yes nice that the headboard becomes a desk. But there seems to be a lot room – oh I know he’s teaching dance or yoga.
