Nicholas Street – Confederation LRT line
If, like me, you live in Sandy Hill or drive through at rush hour prepare for the unexpected. Perhaps now I understand why last week lanes on Laurier eastbound got changed. You can no longer turn north on King Edward and next… plus the headline forecasts a nightmare! Yikes!
Renovation Mistakes That Will Hurt Your Property Value
Some very good points here. The Molly & Claude Team can help you be sure that the project you undertake is the right one. The right one for you and your budget. Your neighbourhood. And the times. Ontario planning to implement legislation to regulate home inspectors this year
Not all home inspectors are created equal! That has certainly proven to be our experience! A legislation that would regulate the home inspection industry sounds like a welcome law. Lets wait and see how Ontario creates that legislation.
Relocating Mature Trees
second
This is great! I was going to say I wonder what country uses this? The name is a bit misleading but it seems they are located near Toronto. Have you seen this in use? I have not! Not yet! When I lived in Korea I was always impressed at seeing huge trees being trucked to a new location. Wouldn’t it be great if we got into that ourselves.
Ottawa’s Best and Worst Buildings, According to You
Interesting article on Ottawa buildings.
My office is very close to the electrical substation at the corner of Carling and Merivale – and I do like it. Having studied architecture I do appreciate older buildings, but were no longer in 19_ we are now in 2016 and so I don’t think we should be reproducing architecture from the past, I believe we need to create new. Of course sometimes something new with a cutting-edge design can take a moment to appreciate, then there’s the question of how will it stand the test of time. I think new architecture CAN live side by side with old. I remember taking an architecture tour in Chicago and their words were that there had to be a dialogue between the buildings; the echo of an element from the old building in the new building close by. One specific example I was always horrified by was the new entrance to 160 Elgin Street, glad it’s gone and look forward to seeing what they will do. As for the National Art Centre to me a great building, its redesign is indeed both exciting and scary to me – here’s hoping!
