Ottawa Condo for Rent
Annual Rainfall Record
It’s a two post day! It just had to be. First Halloween! Happy Halloween once again! Then had to post this while it’s still newsworthy. To no one’s surprise Ottawa has broken a rainfall record with a total accumulation of 1,213 millimetres of rain in 2017. 39 millimetres more than the 1,174 record dating back to 1972. And we still have a couple of months to go. Here’s hoping 2018 is not as wet!

Stanley Cup Monument
I rather like the design of the new Stanley Cup Monument. Looking at some of the finalists makes me thankful this one was chosen. Great location too! The bear has been relocated 1 block west to Sparks and Metcalfe. I think it’s headed for the Hill!

Haloween Candy Warning
I really wish this wasn’t a subject requiring discussion. But it has for a long time and so it continues. This year it takes the shape of gummy bears. Do be careful with candy this time of year and make make sure you check all candy before allowing your children to eat any.
Condos and Airbnb
A Toronto condo is the first in Canada to enter into an agreement with the Airbnb management to regulate short-term rentals in condominiums. The “Friendly Buildings Program” is a program currently up and running in the US. It’s goal is to increase the comfort level of other condo owners and the condo board with regards hosts and guests in a condo building. This program will feature among other critera increased security as well as a 5 per cent income split for the condo corporations. To alleviate the concern of added wear and tear on the building and its amenities the host must pay an additional $50 per month for upkeep. King Arthur Round Swing Table
Is this not the greatest thing! I would love this is in a large loft. Only down side is it’s either 12 or 8 and so dinner for 4 would give the impression some friends didn’t make it. Oh I know: It’s consistently dinner for 8 (or 12). Hum….
Architecture – Asia – China
I must thank my friend René Rivard for his suggestion to feature contemporary architecture of China in this post. Last year he visited China and was most taken with its architecture. Of course as those of you who have seen my posts on his recent paintings will know that the country was a great source of inspiration for his art.
