I miss Fines Flowers. They had such a great greenhouse. As I think of two of the florists left I think one has a very small selection in a vast space the other has a very large attitude. My favourite of late is the Canadian Tire on Carling. Seems one the managers there loves to buy plants and so for the price of a song you can walk out with a great selection.

Replace Bi-fold Doors with Slider Doors

Doors like other things seem to be cyclical. Currently the pendulum has swung to slider doors. I’m not entirely sure why. I live in a 1927 building so I`m sure my doors have endured many a trend. I`m thankful they did. That being said I’ve had bi-fold doors – I like that they give you full access to the closet. Admittedly all that swinging can have them go awry at times. But to me the slider doors mean you can`t access everything at once or two people must coordinate their closet time. What`s your preferred door?

Health Benefits of Drinking Three to Four Cups of Coffee a Day

Not real estate related but too exciting to not share. New research demonstrates there are health advantages to drinking 3 to 4 cups of coffee a day. Ha! (says Claude while drinking his second cup). It may extend life, reduced risk of heart problems, and lower the risk of liver disease and some cancers.

Turns out I typically do have 3 or 4 cups a day. Never beyond 4 and rarely after 4 or 5 PM. Beyond that time perhaps number cup number 3 but not number 4. Doing so might sound like fun for a moment or two but the price will be paid studying the ceiling at 3 or 4 (odd coincidence that) in the morning.

There are health risks for pregnant women. And of course a new study next week may prove all of this wrong but for now I will enjoy my coffee guilt free. Guilt free enjoyment; almost takes the fun out of it!

Driverless Trucks Coming to Canada

I’m really not sure how I feel about this. Some say these autonomous trucks will be safer – others disagree. Will it make transportation of shipments more economical and reduce the cost of grocery for instance. Of course I always regret the loss of yet another type of employment putting yet more people on the unemployment line. But it seems they are coming.

What are your thoughts on driverless trucks.
