I so appreciate professional courteous service. Is that generally out of fashion? If so then consider me old fashioned. Last night I went to pick up my clock from Mr. Georges Royer www.rideauclockrepeair.com. During all the years I travelled the poor thing didn’t work and I could never find someone to fix it. Well that was then. Mr. Royer cleaned and made it work again. A chime I hadn’t heard in so many years. (Calista the cat would have last heard it in her youth and apparently didn’t remember as she was looking everywhere wondering what was going on). All of that to say if you have a clock that needs servicing I wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Royer. He will do what needs doing and charge a very reasonable rate. Mr. Royer Thank you! And if you have a twin working at something in another profession let me know.

A car to go with the house. Humm… I never thought of that. But it makes sence your car should complement the house. So go out to your driveway and see. If the car and the house dont complement one another consider changing the car or the house. Of course if its up to me I’d say keep the car and I’ll help you find a house to with it….

A little advertising this morning. First watch security makes a garage door opener that’s connected to your smart phone. You can program from wherever you are to allow a contractor in or give access to a guest. Seems like a great idea. For $200 it seems like a good addition to your house garage and house security.

Yesterday I was thinking of Pierre Trudeau’s house in Montreal “Cormier House” so I started to Google pics which led me to reading about its architect Esrnest Cormier (his house before it was Trudeau’s). Next I was reading that one of Cormier’s biggest accomplishment was the central building of the Université de Montreal. Finally my cyber travels ended back here on Wellington when I discovered that Cormier designed the Supreme Court of Canada. …further research now required as to how it got it’s châteauesque roof (but initial research suggests the Chateau Laurier influenced the roof line of many official buildings on Wellington.

According to Aljazeera.com “Eco-friendly houses are cathching on in Canada”. My reaction has to be: Really? I’m not sure most people are ready for a house which rises up from tires. Would you? Do you know anyone who has build an eco-friendly house?

Inhabitat.com is a nice website. It features articles on architecture, interiors, art, etc. I’ve found an article about “The Canopy Tower” in Hong Kong. The Canopy contains 54 luxurious duplexes that are surrounded by large private gardens. It really does seem amazing. Who’se taking care of the plants? Do the tenants? Does the building? If it is the building – and I think it shoudl does that mean you’ve regularly got someone on your balcony. Hum… less good!

Of course major renovations are always great! … but sometimes the budget does not allow for such a project. Here are a few great ideas which can freshen up a kitchen or a bathroom and leave you with some cash in the bank.
