Lonely Planet has just named Canada the number 1 country in the world to visit in 2017. Seems a combination of our Prime Minister, global livability indices, our upcoming sesquicentennial (a new word for me) plus the value of our dollar has propelled us to the top position. Alas we in Ottawa are paying the price in 2016 with the reconstruction of seemingly every road and the face lift of every other monument.
