Today the third and final installment of Vanderbilt Residences. Previous weeks had featured Part I and Part II. Seems a real shame that so many of these residences did not survive. But for those in Manhattan their demise is partly what makes New York: New York. These mansions from another era had to give way to the skyscrappers which now form that iconic skyline.
