Architecture – Thomas Heatherwick
I stumbled upon Thomas Alexander Heatherwick`s name last week looking for examples of new additions to historic buildings. A subject that has been much in the news lately with the addition to the Chateau Laurier. I do love the addition to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery (fine you got me I love their gin too).
Heatherwick is an English designer. His designs have been very popular since the late 90s. He is the founder of Heatherwick Studio, a team of over 180 architects and designers. His design approach is not to see projects as specific disciplines but rather as three-dimensional design. His firm does not possess a recognizable style – instead they approach each project as a specific challenge.
