Architect – Stuart Cohen & Julie Hacker
Stuart Cohen is a Chicago architect. He was a member of the Chicago Seven. Members of that group that we have previously explored include: Stanley Tigerman, Larry Booth and Thomas Beeby. Prior to opening his own practice with his wife, Stuart Cohen & Julie Hacker Architects, Cohen worked with Richard Meier and Associates , Phillip Johnson, and John Burgee. He is the recipient of many awards. He was selected by Town and Country Magazine as one of the top fifty residential architects in the country and was included in the Architectural Digest’s AD100. Cohen was a faculty member at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has lectured at Harvard, Columbia, Penn, and Notre Dame.
Julie Hacker holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from Wesleyan University. She obtained a Master’s degree in architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1985. She has worked for Booth Hansen and Hammond Beeby and Babka (now HBRA). She was made partner in 1991.
