Architect – B.V. Doshi
I’ve decided to explore another Prizker Architecture Prize winner today. Having looked at Arata Isozaki last week, this week we look at B.V. Doshi. Doshi was awarded the prize in 2018. He became the fist Indian architect to be awarded said prize. Doshi was born in Pune, India, in 1927. He studied at the J.J. School of Architecture in Mumbai. In the early 50s he worked with Le Corbusier in Paris. Architectural Digest has stated “A big part of the greatness of Doshi’s architecture is empathy”. A big part of his style, to me, is brutalist which I love. Don’t ask Molly!
