Architect – Antoine Predock
I’m back from my road trip to the north and to the west! The trip was abbreviated when driving towards Regina and Calgary I thought – “No I don’t want to go further this now feels like pressure, like a challenge and that’s not what it should be”. On Tuesday, reading about the 30 centimetres of snow that had fallen on Calgary I was happy to have turned back and not found myself in that mess.
But my explorations did take me to Winnipeg. There, I saw the Canadian Museum for Human Rights built by Antoine Predock. And so, decided he would be the subject of this weeks post.
Antoine Predock is an American architect born in 1936. His work has a strong New Mexico influence. You may read, as well as listen to excerpts of an interview at The Talks. Alongside Bjarke Ingels, Predock was honoured by the Royal Architecture of Canada (RAI) with an Honorary Fellowship for his achievements.
