I feel protecting the built heritage of a neighbourhood is important; it is what gives that neighbourhood it’s spirit. Perhaps I don’t understand developer’s budgets and the city’s need but I do find it sad when heritage goes wrong. I think the intent proposed in 2009 and possible results of 2018 are quite different. They are being accepted not wholehartedly but in fear that additional negotiations could expose the building to further deterioration. Not good!
