One time use straws are not environmentally sound. Sign this petition to have Starbucks design their staws with something less harmful for the environment.
I rather like the pasta straw idea. No taste lasts long enough for you to have a drink but not 100 years.
Alternatively, refuse straws! Yes sometimes they are necessary but a lot of the time they are not.
