Architect – Hart Massey

An interesting Canadian Dynasty here. Hart Massey was the son of our former Governor General Vincent Massey. Massey Sr was a diplomat, and eventually responsible for the National Library of Canada and the Canada Council for the Arts.

A lot of Hart Massey’s work was with the Architectural Associates for Carleton University at the newly created Rideau Campus.

In looking at Googie Style in Ottawa last week I discovered Massey with the structures in Vincent Massey Park and so am featuring him this week.

His son John Massey is a prominent contemporary artist.
